In November and December, Sleep Green Hotels members in Austria won various important awards. Which and what they were given for, you can find below. We’re very proud!

Hotelier of the year 2017

Georg Maier and the Grünes Hotel zur Post was awarded by the Hotel Association of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) and the Austrian Business Publishing House the Star Award “Hotelier of the Year” 2017. By voting online, guests and colleagues were able to vote under the motto “value creation and appreciation through sustainability” and the Bio-Hotel was clearly in the lead.

The hotel has taken numerous measures to protect the environment. The photovoltaic system on the roof produces its own electricity, while the outage rest comes from Salzburg AG and is generated entirely from renewable energy sources. Since spring 2014, not only the hotel but also 4 of the surrounding buildings have been heated by pellet heating, and the CO2 reduction of 95% compared to oil heating is considerable. There are charging stations for electric cars and e-bikes, who even travel with either of the two or the train will receive a 10% discount on the list price. Hotel of the future

This is also an star award from the Association of Hotel Industry of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) and the Austrian Business Publishing House, which was awarded in 2017. Winner in the category 4-5 stars east is the Hotel Der Wilhelmshof. Environmental protection and the ecological footprint are a special concern of the design hotel in Vienna. The commitment ranges from small everyday things such as waste separation to the largest solar system in the Viennese hotel industry. More information can be found here.

Education award

The Hotel Rogner Bad Blumau also received an award from the Association of Hotel Industry of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber (WKO) and the Austrian Business Association for its training and its extraordinary commitment with its apprentices.

Already in September, the apprentices of the hotel invited relatives and acquaintances, teaching staff, trainers as well as representatives of the economy and partner companies to this year’s apprentice day. On this day you presented the world unique and their tasks from their point of view.

For the fifth time, Austria’s Wellness Portal www.thermencheck.com has called for the election of the most popular spa. Also in 2017, the Rogner Bad Blumau clearly takes the lead.
