Since the 1st of January 2010, gay and lesbian couples can also have their partnership legalized in Austria. However, only in Vienna can a big wedding party also take place. Festive ceremonies are possible at top locations – from the Albertina to the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel.

The star-studded AIDS-charity event is the most spectacular queer party in Europe and it raises close to a million euros each year for HIV projects. From Federal Chancellor to Hollywood star, they all come to watch the fashion show by one of the world’s super-designers on City Hall Square and to dance the night away. Tickets for the Life Ball are as precious as gold, but the fashion show is free for everyone.
